New tools for website translation

Date:
April 2, 2025
Direct language switching in the form editor allows to instantly see and select all existing content locales. The "Compare locale" dialog in the sitemap supports access to the context menus for both languages. Content “mapped” in XML schemas to selected file properties is now also written to localized properties.

Direct language switching in the form editor

Language switching buttons in the form editor

Switching languages in the form editor has been simplified. Instead of having to change the language using a dropdown box in the toolbar, buttons for switching languages are now displayed in the top right corner of the editor. This allows you to see at a glance into which languages the content has already been translated, as only buttons for languages already present in the content are displayed.

Adding a language that does not yet exist is still only possible via the dropdown box in the toolbar.

Accessing the context menus for both languages in the sitemap “compare locales” dialog

Compare locale dialog in the sitemap

In the “Compare locales” dialog of the sitemap, the option to open the context menu for both languages has been added. Previously, this was only possible for the currently selected language on the left side. This makes it easier to change the properties of both pages without having to change the selected language first.

Localized variants of “mapped” properties

Localized variants of “mapped” properties

Property mappings in XML schemas now support locale specific variants. For the property Title locale specific properties like Title_de and Title_fr can be defined. In this case, the locale specific value from the mapped field in the form editor will be written to the corresponding mapped locale specific file property.
